Restoration of Copyright Protection
under URAA:
Its Impact on the ASCAP Repertory

This is a current list of works in the ASCAP repertory to which copyright protection has been restored for the balance of the current 75 year copyright term, calculated from the year of original publication. This Restoration is pursuant to the Uruguay Round Agreements Act of 1992 (URAA), which implements the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) Treaty. The Restoration applies only to certain works first published abroad after 1920. For example, much of the music of such prominent composers as Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Stravinsky, and Khachaturian is now copyrighted in the United States. Effective January 1, 1996, your ASCAP license authorizes non-dramatic performances of these works.

These additional works further enhance ASCAP's position as the leading source of performing rights for concert music.

This is a partial list of restored works based on information provided to ASCAP by its members. ASCAP makes no representation as to its accuracy and disclaims any liability for losses or risk that may be incurred directly or indirectly from the use of the information provided in the list or from any omissions. ASCAP expects to be notified of additional restored works. Updated lists will be published periodically.
