ASCAP Celebrates “Country Must Be Country Wide”

ASCAP congratulated Mike Dekle and the team behind Brantley Gilbert’s No. 1 “Country Must Be Country Wide” on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at a party in Nashville. Co-written by veteran songwriter Dekle and rising star Colt Ford, and produced by ASCAP member Dann Huff, the hit became a self-fulfilling prophecy as it blanketed airwaves across the nation, topping charts in October of last year. This wasn't Dekle's first trip to the top, though; he has also written hits for Kenny Rogers, Tracy Byrd and Joe Nichols, as well as penning several additional songs with Gilbert.
